CALHOUN FARMER DROWNS IN SHALLOW WATERING TANK

Body Found in Stock Tank. Family Among Early Settlers

George Nelson, age 33 years, died Friday evening somewhere around eleven o’clock by drowning. He had been in poor health for some time, and had suffered much.

His father, Paul Nelson, an early settler and a man of much influence in his community passed away last August. The three children, George, Arthur and Mary continued their residence on the home farm, and it was here on the home farm southeast of Fort Calhoun that George also died.

He was restless on the night of his death, and the brother and sister heard him get up out of bed and leave the house. They waited for his return, but becoming alarmed at his absence, they went in search of him, finding him dead in a water tank.

Deceased was born on the farm where he died. He leaves to mourn his tragic death Arthur and Mae at home, Frank of O’Neal, Nebraska and Mrs. Anna Petersen of Irvington, Nebraska.

The funeral services were held from the home on last Monday afternoon, and interment was made in Forest Lawn cemetery of Omaha.
