Jean Joy Baker, youngest daughter of D. S. Pritchard, passed away on Wednesday afternoon at an Omaha hospital. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church in Kennard on Friday afternoon with Rev. Reese of Blair officiating. The pallbearers were Norma Jane Ward, Birdina Booher, Beulah Noel, Carrie Japp, Eugene Rooth and Neil Andreasen. The singers were Mrs. A. E. Karnett, Ruth Brown, Erma Rosenbaum and Twyla Kronberg. Mrs. R. P. Ogden presided at the piano.

FORMER KENNARD GIRL, 19, IS DEAD

MRS. JEAD JOY BAKER SUCCUMBS IN OMAHA HOSPITAL WEDNESDAY

Seriously ill following an operation Tuesday, Mrs. Jean Joy Baker, 19, former Kennard resident, died in an Omaha hospital yesterday noon after an unsuccessful attempt had been made by a blood transfusion to save her life.

As Jean Joy Pritchard, she was born at Kennard November 18, 1919, and resided there until her marriage less than a year ago to Walter Baker of Avera, at which time she moved to Omaha. She attended the Kennard schools.

Surviving besides her husband are her father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. D. S .Pritchard of Kennard; her stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Taylor of Omaha; two grandmothers, Mrs. Rose Wilmot of Omaha and Mrs. Belle Pritchard of Adena, Colorado; one brother, David Pritchard of Kennard; and eight sisters, Mrs. Davena Fuller of Bashion Island, Washington, Mrs. Bernice Jensen of Gray, Iowa, Mrs. Lorene Menking of Chicago, and five in Omaha: Mrs. Edith Browning, Mrs. Maine Ericksen, Mrs. Beatrice Pritchard, Misses Betty and Rosalie Taylor, the latter only three month of age.

The body was brought to Kennard last evening. Funeral services will be held in Kennard at the Methodist church, Friday, at 1 p.m. The Rev. T.J. Reese, Blair, will be in charge
