MRS. EMANUEL CASTETTER GONE

Mrs. Rosetta Haller Castetter was born December 25, 1853 in Walworth county Wisconsin, and passed away on Thursday, June 18, 1936, at the Court View hospital in Blair following an illness of three days.

Mrs. Castetter was a member of one of the older families of the county, coming here in the seventies. Her parents immigrated from Switzerland, and after a short sojourn in Vermont settled in Wisconsin in 1837.

She was a sister of Theodore, Frank, W. D. and Sam Haller, all prominent in business here in the early days, and also of Mrs. Mary Kemp and Mrs. Jake Wambold, all of whom were Blair residents and all now gone. But one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Frazer of East Troy, Wisconsin, remains of the original family.

In her younger days Mrs. Castetter was a prominent figure in the social world of Blair, being an accomplished musician, she taught music and was for years the organist of the Congregational church. She was also active in club work.

She was married to Emanuel Castetter in 1877, and to them two children were born, Mrs. Harry Vincent of Estherville, Iowa and Scott of Blair, who with the husband now nearly eighty nine years of age, mourn deeply their great loss.

During the married life of Mr. and Mrs. Castetter in Blair, with the exception of two years in Wisconsin and seven years in South Dakota. This was always their home and when away their thoughts were really in Blair.

The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the Bendorf funeral Home with Rev. T. J. Reese officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

The out of the county guests present at the last sad rites were: Mrs. Edith Axtel and daughter, Jane, Mrs. Fred Claridge, Mrs. Foda Nash, Mrs. Anna Cassetter, Mrs. George Donaldson, Mrs. and Mrs. Herman Aye, Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Zimmerman, all of Omaha, and Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Haller of Beaver Crossing, Nebr., Miss Cara Clark and brother, Andrew Clark also of Omaha, not being able to be present on Sunday, made a trip to Blair on Saturday to express their sympathy to the bereaved family.
