G. ZIMMERMAN ANSWERS CALL

Gottlieb Zimmerman, farmer residing near Herman, passed away Thursday, May 28, 1936, at the age of 76 years, 5 months and 23 days. Deceased was a native of Switzerland, coming to this country from Switzerland on June 2nd, 1881, and has since that time made Washington county his home.

Two of the daughters passed away in infancy, and the third passed away during the flu epidemic in 1918. The wife and two sons, Fred and Alfred, and two granddaughters survive and grieve deeply their great loss.

Gottlieb Zimmerman was more than the ordinary man. He was a gentleman of the old school with high ideals and scrupulously honest in his dealings with men. He thus, during his residence of fifty five years, built to himself a friendship that was as wide as his acquaintance, extended and founded on deep respect for a life well spent.

Funeral services were held at the home on Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev T. J. Reese of the Blair Baptist church officiating. Music for the last sad rites was furnished by Mrs. C. E. Johnson, Mrs. Ivan Helms, J. D. Long and C. R. Gray with Mrs. O. H. Godsey at the piano, all of Herman.
