Charles William Durkee

Charles William Durkee died on Sunday morning at the home of his son, Everett Durkee, who lives southeast of Arlington. Mr. Durkee was born at Shady Lake, Minn. on October 13, 1860, and for the past twenty five years had lived in Spaulding where his wife died on March 13 of this year. The body was taken by the Reckmeyer funeral coach to Spaulding on Tuesday where the funeral services were held at 2:00 o’clock at the Presbyterian church. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Charles Garver of Tiffin, Mo.; Daniel Durkee of Tabor, Ia; Mrs. Freida Reed of Tiffin, Mo.; Mrs. Irl Swisher of Council Bluffs, Ia.; George Durkee of Pacific Junction, Ia.; Mrs. M. C. Thompson of Council Bluffs, Ia.; and Everett Durkee of this vicinity. Twenty six grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.
