MRS. CHRIS BEKKE

Mrs. Chris Bekke passed away at the Court View hospital last Sunday, March 29th, a victim of pneumonia. She was taken to the hospital on Monday, March 23, where she was given the most careful care and attention, but with no avail.

She was born in Denmark in June of 1856, and was thus nearing her eightieth birthday when the end came. Born and reared in Denmark, and coming to this country after maturity, she met and married Chris Bekke forty four years ago in this city, and together they have lead a very happy, congenial life.

No children came to bless their union, but they found solace for this in caring for orphan children which they loved as their own, and this was a great joy and comfort to them.

Mrs. Bekke had no near relatives in this country, and she clung very closely to the husband who is left to mourn her departure.

The funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the First Lutheran church of which she was a member, and interment will be made in the Blair cemetery.
