DEATH CALLS DONALD HANSEN

Donald Earl Hansen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Christian B. Hansen, passed away at the family home Thursday evening, January 23, 1936, following a brief, but serious, illness.

He was born at this same home November 6, 1925, and was thus just ten years, two months and 17 days of age. He attended the Bisbee school and was enrolled in Sunday School at the Orum Danish church.

He leaves to mourn his death, besides his parents, two sisters, C. Irene and Laura Mae, and two brothers, Leslie P. and Herbert N., all of whom live at home, and were at the bedside when the end came, except Leslie, who is stationed on the U.S.S. Kane, San Diego, California with the United States Navy, and arrived home a day later. He also leaves his two grandmothers, four uncles and eight aunts and numerous other relatives.

The services, conducted by Rev. Immanuel Petersen, were held from the family home to the First Lutheran church in Blair. Rev. Petersen sang one song and Miss Viola Hansen rendered two vocal numbers. Despite bad roads and sub zero weather, the funeral was largely attended.

Donald was held in high esteem by his many little friends, as well as the grown ups of the neighborhood, all of whom join with the family in mourning his seemingly untimely departure from this earth.

Six community and school friends served as pallbearers; they were: Neal Paulsen, Lyle Skov, Russel Paulsen,Lloyd and Glen Echtenkemp and Harlan Stork.
