LYLE J. DALEY DEAD AFTER AN UNUSUAL INJURY

Was Well Known to Blair People. Son of Daniel Daley

Lyle J. Daley, 34, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Daley and a nephew of Jerry Foley of Blair, died Sunday afternoon in an Omaha hospital after he was injured Friday while attempting to push his car through a snow drift. Mr. Daley was driving his car from his home in Ralston to Omaha where he worked as head cashier for the Nebraska Power company. It became necessary for him to get out and push the machine.

He complained of a slight pain during the day at the office, but did not appear to be in serious condition until evening at home.

He was removed to a hospital where it was discovered that a blood vessel had burst in his intestines. He underwent an operation Saturday, with his brother Maynard in readiness to give blood should a transfusion be necessary. Maynard, who had the correct type of blood had given his sister-in-law, Mrs. Gerald Daley, blood for a transfusion when she was seriously ill at a hospital two weeks ago.

Surviving are his parents, his widow, three sons, five brothers and a sister. All members of the family have visited in Blair frequently. Rites were held Thursday morning at St. Mary Magdalene church, Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Foley were present at the services.
