MRS. ED KOPKE PASSES AWAY

Mrs. Ed Kopke died early Friday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Barney Hansen of Arlington, after an extended illness.

Mrs. Kopke, as Ruby Loshbaugh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Losbaugh, was born in Arlington on March 9th, 1883, and the greater part of her life was spent here, with the exception of some years spent in Michigan, Illinois, and the past few which were spent in South Dakota. On July 5th, 1900 she was married to Ed Kopke, who, with their four daughters, survive her. For the past seven months Mrs. Kopke has been ill here at the home of her daughter, having been moved here from her home at Greenwood, S.D.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock in the Methodist church with the Rev. Ralph R. Rasmussen in charge. Her daughters who survive her are Mrs. George Eilers of Brewster, Mrs. Barney Hansen of Arlington, Mrs. Tom Carney of Greenwood, S.D., and Mrs. W.E. Hickman of Arlington. Twelve grandchildren also survive.

Burial was made in the Arlington cemetery.

MRS. ED KOPKE

Ruby Elizabeth Kopke, daughter of Levi and Ruth Loshbaugh and granddaughter of the late Rev. and Mr. J.C. Charles, was born at Arlington, on March 9, 1883, where she spent most of her early life.

She was married to Edward E. Kopke at Arlington on July 5, 1900. To this marriage four children were born. Most of her life was spent at Arlington, Neb. and Greenwood, S.D. A little over a year ago she became ill at her home in Greenwood, S.D. Her condition becoming worse she was brought to Arlington last May, where she stayed at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Barney Hanson until her death on January 3, 1936, at the age of 52 years, 9 months and 24 days.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Kopke, her four daughters, Mrs. George Eiler, Bristow, Neb., Mrs. T.E. Carney, Greenwood, S.D.; Mrs. Barney Hanson and Mrs. W.E. Hickman, both of Arlington, and twelve grandchildren. Also two brothers, W.H. Loshbaugh of Minneapolis, Minn, and J.C. Loshbaugh, Everett, Wash. Two brothers, Harry L. Charles and Elmer Loshbaugh, having preceded her in death.

Out of town relatives and friends in attendance at the funeral were, R.B.Kopke of Greenwood, S.D. , Mrs. George Eiler, Bristow, Nebr., Mrs. And Mrs. Louie Shannon of Fremont, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Long of Fremont, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Long of Benson, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Long of Herman, Mrs. Pete Long of Fremont, Mrs. And Mrs. Frank Luke of Fremont, Mrs. Maude Ross and Miss Olive Griffith of Omaha and Mrs. Emma Foulks of Fremont.

Pallbearers were Wm. Foulks, Harry Hammang, James Price, Henry Peters, Lee Weidum and Guy Glover.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church on Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. Ralph P. Rasmussen officiated. A quartet composed of H.J. Dorbecker, W.A. Reckmeyer, Mrs. George Ludwig and Mrs. Alvin Anderson sang a group of songs.
