Elsie R. (Rix) Cook
Died on 12/11/1935
Buried in Fort Calhoun Cemetery

19 Dec., 1935 - The Enterprise MRS. ELSIE COOK Mrs. Elsie Cook died suddenly and unexpectedly at her home in Fort Calhoun on Wednesday morning of last week. She had been confined to her bed for two months with an illness resulting from infection in the glands of her neck, but the disease was not regarded as immediately alarming. A blood clot on the brain is given as the cause of her death which came suddenly and painlessly. Mrs. Cook was born in Fort Calhoun November 27, 1886, and except for a few years in Omaha, her entire life was spent there. She was married to Lloyd E. Cook at her parental home on June 15, 1910, and to them was born a daughter, Mary, who survives her, as does her mother, Mrs. May Rix, and three brothers, Walter, Ernest and Howard all of Fort Calhoun. The community indeed mourns the departure of this splendid woman and sincerely sympathizes with the family in their loss. The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock. ~~~obituary courtesy of the Nebraska Washington County Genealogical Society.
