5 Dec., 1935 - The Enterprise BETTY H. WIESE DIES IN OMAHA Betty Helena Wiese, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Wiese of Kennard vicinity, passed away last Thursday at the Nicholas Senn hospital in Omaha following complications resulting from an operation for appendicitis. Betty Helena was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wiese, her death coming as a great shock to her many friends and neighbors of the family. The little Miss was 6 years, 7 months and 9 days old at the time of her death. She was born at Benson, Nebraska, the family moving shortly after her birth to the Gardner school district west of Blair where she grew to school age. She began her school work in the Gardner school. Recently the family moved to the Kennard vicinity, and Betty was in attendance at the Kennard school at the time of her death. She is survived by her parents, two sisters, Evelyn and Donna Mae, and one brother, Robert. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schmidt and Mrs. Anna Wiese of Bennington are grandparents of the little girl, who mourn her loss. Hans Kuhl of Kennard, great-grandfather of the deceased, also survives. Funeral services were held Sunday, December 1st, from the Bennington church, and burial was made in the Elk City cemetery. Four uncles, John and Hans Wiese and John and Otto Schmidt, were pallbearers. ~~~obituary courtesy of the Nebraska Washington County Genealogical Society.
