MRS. GEO. W. BLANCHARD DIES

Cora Newell was born June 20, 1874 at West Dover, Vermont, and departed this life on Thursday afternoon, November 21, 1935 at Blair, Nebraska. On September 28, 1904 she was united in marriage to Mr. George W. Blanchard at Blair, Nebraska. To this union one child was born, a son, Newell William, who died at the age of six months.

Mrs. Blanchard came to Nebraska with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Newell, in April 1885. She became a member of the Christian church at Craig, Nebraska 23 years ago where she held her membership at the time of her death. For twenty years she has been a constant sufferer from arthritis, and during all these years she had the tender care of her devoted husband and all that medical skill could do.

Those who survive her besides her husband are her brother and sister, Mr. F. E. Newell and Miss Kate Newell, both of Blair, Nebraska and many other relatives.

Because of the nature of her illness Mrs. Blanchard was not permitted to take a very active part in the affairs of the community, but it can be truthfully stated that she was very much interested in the life and activities around her. She loved her neighbors and enjoyed their visits at her home during these many years of illness. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Campbell mortuary with Rev. T. J. Reese of the local Baptist church officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

Out of town guests at the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Alexander, Mrs. Stanley Gray, and Mr. A. Browning, Orchard Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Antisdel and Mrs. George Hart, Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Frazey, Lincoln, Nebr.; Mr. and Mrs. Dell Antisdal, Mr. and Mrs. William Suverkrubbe, Fort Calhoun; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Newell and family, Arlington; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Blanchard and Mr. and Mrs. Huit Lowe, Herman, Nebr.
