Carter, Isabel (Hines) 10/21/1935 24 Oct., 1935 - The Enterprise MRS. ISABEL HINES CARTER Mrs. Isabel Hines Carter passed away Monday at 11 a.m. at the soldiers’ home at Milford, Nebraska. Deceased was born February 12, 1854 and was thus past eighty one years of age at her death. She was married to Thomas Hines at Avoca, Iowa in 1870, and to them nine children were born, seven girls and two boys: Mrs. S. C. Cafferty of Broadwater, Nebr.; Mrs. G.L. Fox of Florence; Mrs. Will Richard, Hot Springs, Montana; Mrs. Tom Benson of Missoula, Montana; Mrs. E. T. Mulich, Omaha; Mrs. Tom Caldwell, Los Angeles; and Mrs. Charles Dann Phoenix, Arizona; G.G. of Blair and D.F. of Omaha, also ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The family moved to Blair in 1896 and later the husband passed away, and in 1902 the wife married T.M. Carter, who also died a number of years ago. she was a member of the Methodist church and of the W.R.C. and the W.C.T. League. Mrs. Carter made a host of friends while she made her home in Blair, who will join with the grief-stricken children in their sorrow at her death. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock from the Campbell Mortuary, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery. ~~~obituary courtesy of the Nebraska Washington County Genealogical Society.
