Syracuse, NE. He served in the US Marine Corps in the Korean War, earning the Purple Heart and Bronze Star medals. Retired from Inacom Corp. Former owner of Truscott Implement. Darrel is survived by his wife Carol, Syracuse; daughters, Kim and husband Scott Niday, Pittsburgh, PA, Deb Swanson, Otoe, NE, Karin and husband David Nannen, Blair, NE; 8 grandchildren and their spouses, Darin Niday, Denver, Co, Ricky and Jinny Swanson, Omaha, Lindsey Niday, St. Louis, MO, Patrick Niday, Kirksville, MO, Jessa and Gage Swanson, Otoe, Zachary and Madison Nannen, Blair; and sister Phyllis (Krogh) Shields, Blair. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son-in-law Rick Swanson.

FUNERAL SERVICE 10:30 am Tuesday, April 19, at United Methodist Church of Syracuse, with Rev. Tony Dawson officiating. VISITATION Monday, April 18, 9 am-9pm, with the family receiving friends and relatives 5-7 pm at the Funeral Home Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
