V.C. FLANAGAN

Vincent Chauncey Flanagan, 66 years of age, passed away at his home in this city October 11, 1935. He came to Nebraska in 1881, and when he reached maturity he followed farming as his life’s vocation.

On October 17, 1900 he was united in marriage with Miss Julia Becklun, and to them four children were born, one child passing away in infancy.

For a long term of years the family resided on a farm southwest of Tekamah where the family was reared and educated, but in May of 1934 they moved to Blair where they established a home and where he passed away following a period of six years of failing health.

Deceased was a member of the Odd Fellow lodge and was Past Nobel Grand of the Tekamah lodge and was also a devout member of the Methodist church, which joined with the fact that he was strictly honest and sincere in his dealings with his fellow men made him an ideal citizen whose life was well worthy of emulation.

He leaves to mourn his departure his good and faithful wife and three daughters, Mrs. Helen Bryant of Spencer, Iowa, Hazel Flanagan of Omaha and Ethel of Blair and two brothers, Dennis of Oregon and W. M. and Miss Mary Flanagan of Omaha.

The funeral services were held last Sunday at the Blair Methodist Episcopal church at 2 p.m. with Rev. D.A. McCullough officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
