MRS. A. KOLTERMAN PASSES MONDAY

Mrs. Anna Kolterman aged 79 years, passed away at her home on West Lincoln street on Monday afternoon. Deceased was born March 18, 1856 at Jersey City, New Jersey, and at the age of 23 years came to Nebraska. She taught school for two years near Omaha, and here she met and married John Carl Frederick Kolterman, and for a time they made their home in Millard, Nebraska.

They came to Blair, Nebraska in 1893, and the husband purchased what was called the “Buckeye Roller Mill”, located on the block west of the Vinton-Evans garage across the street and the next corner north. Here he did a general milling business until he died in April, 1901.

In 1905 Mrs. Kolterman moved to a farm near Atkinson, Nebr. where she resided with her sons for three years. Later she moved to Petersburgh, Nebraska in 1908 and in 1911 to a homestead in Tripp county, South Dakota where she spent several years.

Seven years ago she returned to Blair to make her home and purchased the residence on Lincoln street where she lived.

Seven sons were born to Mrs. Kolterman, five of whom are still living: Carl Frederick, Blair; Frederick August, Seward; Ewald William, San Marino, California; John Carl Frederick, Red Oak, Iowa and Frank Ernest, Mitchell, Nebraska.

Mrs. Kolterman was a woman of more than ordinary ability and known among her friends for her womanly virtues. She was the idol of her sons, who never missed an opportunity to show her their love and respect.

The funeral services were held this Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Trinity Lutheran church, and were conducted by Rev. Frese who is a son of the Rev. E. J. Frese who pronounced their marriage vows. Interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
