D. W. LAWSON DIES WEDNESDAY

D. W. Lawson, depot agent in Arlington for the Chicago and Northwestern railroad for 21 years, died Wednesday morning at his home there. His retirement from the railroad service was forced by ill health three years ago, and he had been bedfast the past six months.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Drafahl-Regan chapel in Fremont, and burial was made in Hillcrest cemetery in Omaha with Masonic services at the grave.

Mr. Lawson was born February 1, 1864 at Sinking Springs, Ohio. He was a railroader for 43 years working for the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul road in Iowa in the early part of his career. After becoming an employee of the Chicago and Northwestern road in Nebraska, he was depot agent at Long Pine for three years, and then was transferred to Arlington.

Mr. Lawson was a member of the Masonic lodge at Arlington and of various Masonic bodies in Fremont, including the Knights Templar. He was a past patron of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and of the Order of Railway Telegraphers.

Survivors are his wife, one son, George, of New York City, four daughters, Lucy and Marie and Mrs. Pauline Anderson of Arlington and Mrs. Madeline Damon of Omaha, four grandchildren, one brother, Marion of Milford, Iowa and one sister, Mrs. Joen Boe of Spokane, Washington.
