AUGUST MEYER OF FONTANELLE DIES

August Wilhelm Meyer, 78, a resident of Fontanelle vicinity for the past 51 years, died early Saturday morning at his home in Fontanelle. He had been sick for many years and confined to his bed for the past three years.

Mr. Meyer was born May 6, 1858 at Neuhaus on the Oste, province of Hanover, Germany, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Meyer. He came to America in 1884, and settled at once in the vicinity of Fontanelle where he had made his home since that time. Several years ago he retired from active work on the farm and moved to Fontanelle. His wife died in 1928.

He was a member of the Lutheran church of Fontanelle.

Mr. Meyer is survived by two brothers, Peter Meyer, 85, of Benson and Barthold Meyer, 82, of Fontanelle.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Lutheran church in Fontanelle with Rev. Moehring officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
