Word reached us Sunday night of the death of Mrs. Otto Kempcke of Lyons, who had been a patient sufferer in a Sioux City hospital for seven weeks. Mrs. Kempcke was born and reared to womanhood at Kennard. She was united in marriage to Otto Kempcke about thirty years ago.

To this union six children were born who, together with the husband and father, are left to mourn her departure. She also leaves to mourn her loss three sisters: Mrs. George Robertson, Mrs. Jap Rosenbaum and Miss Lena Bates, and three brothers: Thomas W., Frank and William Charles Bates. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church at Lyons on Wednesday afternoon, with interment at the Lyons cemetery.

FORMER KENNARD WOMAN SUCCUMBS

MRS. OTTO KEMPCKE OF LYONS DIED IN SIOUX CITY HOSPITAL SUNDAY

Mrs. Otto Kempcke of Lyons, former resident of Kennard, died at 11:30 in Lutheran hospital, Sioux City. She had been seriously ill nine weeks.

Mrs. Kempcke moved to Lyons about 20 years ago.

Among the survivors are two sons, William and Russell, of Lyons; four daughters, Mrs. Irene Hayes, Mrs. Dorothy Hayes, Mrs. Helen Swensen and Mrs. Edna Marie Pond, all of Lyons, and nine grandchildren, also of that city.

Three brothers, Thomas, Charles and Frank Bates of Kennard, also survive, as do three sisters, Mrs. Georgia Robertson, Mrs. Agnes Rosenbaum and Miss Lena Bates of Kennard.
