Fred C. Sylvis, born April 27, 1876, passed away at the home of a sister in Omaha on Saturday, May 25, of a paralytic stroke.

He came to Nebraska with his parents at the age of 13 where he grew to manhood and was married to Miss Bertha Sheets. To them one son, James E., was born. Mrs. Sylvis died some years ago.

He leaves to mourn him his son, now of Fremont; his aged mother, Nancy Sylvis of Milford, Nebr.; two brothers and three sisters: Charles of Pedro, South Dakota; John and Mrs. Laura King of Omaha; Mrs. H. J. Smith of Blair and Mrs. H. W. Borcherding of Fremont.

Funeral services were held Monday at 3:30 at the Campbell mortuary with Rev. T. J. Reese in charge, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
