GUY HINKLEY VICTIM OF DUST

Recent Storms Were Cause of Death, Say Doctors

Guy Hinkley, 46 years old and a resident of Washington county all his life, died Wednesday morning at Covenant hospital in Omaha, where he had been taken only 20 minutes previously, of an infected thrombosis of the cavernous sinus caused, an Omaha specialist said, by the recent dust storms that prevailed in this region.

Funeral services for Mr. Hinkley will be held at one o’clock Friday afternoon from the Campbell mortuary with Rev. M. W. Tolo, Orum pastor, officiating, and from the Danish Lutheran church at Orum at two o’clock, Rev. Tolo also to be in charge. Interment will be made in the Orum cemetery.

Only a short time before his death, Mr. Hinkley had purchased a 10 acre tract of land, improved near the Roberts and Rose ranch north of Blair, and had been engaged in cleaning it up preparatory to spring planting. During the dust storms he had worked outside several full days, and inhalation of the dust was the principle contributory cause of the infection that set in it is said.

Mr. Hinkley was born in this county, and in early manhood he was married to Miss Laura Rasmussen. Surviving are his widow, his mother of Blair and a brother and sister, the latter being Mrs. Charles Brenbarger of this city.
