Mrs. C. H. Uehling passed away at her home here Tuesday evening at 6:30 after a lingering illness. Amelia Stroh was born August 16, 1879 at Hooper, Nebr., and died April 30, 1935 at Herman, Nebr., aged 55 years, 8 months and 14 days. She was united in marriage March 27, 1895 to Conrad Uehling at Hooper, and to this union two children were born. She spent the greater part of her life in the communities of Hooper and Herman, and was a resident of Washington county for more than 25 years. She was united with the German Lutheran church the day of her marriage, and has been a sincere follower of her faith since that day. Besides her husband she is survived by two children, Mrs. Ben West and Earl Uehling of Herman, two sisters, Mrs. Anton Tunberg of Hooper and Mrs. Thomas Cushman of Herman, two brothers, Louis Stroh of Fremont and Ed and Alfred of Hooper. Funeral services were held at the Legion hall Friday afternoon at two o’clock following short services at the home at 1:30, Rev. Panbecker of the Zion Lutheran church at Hooper officiating, assisted by Rev. C. C. Norlin of the local M. E. church. Mrs. F. B. Shrader sang two selections with Mrs. A. Jesperson at the piano. Interment was made in the Herman cemetery.
