Ludwig Schultz was born in Schoenberg, Mecklenburg, Germany November 5, 1850, and passed away at his home here April 18, 1935 at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 9 days. He was married to Marie Lotter June 24, 1885. Two children were born to them, Claus of Omaha and Mrs. Chris Staben of Fort Calhoun. His occupation was farming until 1910 when he and his wife retired and moved to town. Mrs. Schultz preceded him in death 20 years ago. Surviving are Claus Schultz of Omaha, Mrs. Chris Staben of Fort Calhoun, two sons by a former marriage, Ludwig of Kingsville, Texas and Hartwig of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Presbyterian church, Rev. R. H. Prentice officiating. Burial was made in the Fort Calhoun cemetery.
