M. Z. BALDWIN DIES

M. Z. Baldwin, 85 years of age, and an old resident of Fort Calhoun, passed away Tuesday morning, April 16, after an illness of several weeks’ duration.

Deceased was born in Essex county, New York, and when seven years of age his family moved to Filmore county, Minnesota, where they resided for a number of years.

At the age of twenty six he as married to Miss Savalla Brown at Marshalltown, Iowa, and later moved to Fort Calhoun where they have lived for the past thirty five years of more.

To Mr. and Mrs. Baldwin four daughters and one son were born. Two of the daughters have passed on. The other two, Mrs. Lucy Coursin and Mrs. Mildred Carlson both reside in Omaha, and the son Charles Arthur resides in Los Angeles, California. These, besides the aged wife, mourn their loss deeply.

The deceased was a fine character, always cheerful and a good word for everyone. He had anticipated death, and had carefully prepared his obituary announcement, which is to be read at the funeral ceremony and had even selected the songs which he wished rendered at the time.

Funeral services are to be held this Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock from the Presbyterian church in Fort Calhoun, and interment will be made in the Fort Calhoun cemetery.
