Rites For John C. Anderson, 57, Held Wednesday

Former Rural Mail Carrier On Route 3 Suffered Stroke

John C. Anderson, a native of this county, died at his home on North Center Street at 2:30 Monday morning. He had been ailing for years of heart trouble which culminated in a stroke that ended his life.

He was born at Admah, this county, on April 1, 1880. His mother died three days after his birth and he was adopted by an aunt who reared him to manhood.

On March 7, 1908, he was married to Miss Mildred Burcham and to them four sons were born, Milton, Leon David, Marvin and John, all of whom are married and reside in Omaha.

Deceased was well known in this county where for about twenty years he acted as rural mail carrier out of Blair. Later he was transferred d to Omaha where he acted in the same capacity. In all, he served twenty-seven years. Finally his health compelled him to resign and take his pension that the government allows.

He was active in church work and also in Scout work. He was the first Scout Master in Blair and he continued in the work until he moved to Omaha where he again took up the work and headed two different troups.

In his early years he did his bit for his country and served in the army stationed at Liana Grand on the Mexican border in the year 1916.

About two years ago he and his wife moved back to heir home in Blair where he was living t the time of his death.

Besides the wife and four sons, he is survived by seven grandchildren who all mourn deeply his passing.

Funeral services, with the Rev. T. A. Lindenmeyer officiating, were held at the Christian church Wednesday afternoon, March 13th, at 2:30 P.M., and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
