FORMER ARLINGTON WOMAN PASSES

Funeral services for Mrs. Robert E. Kruse of Pender were held here on Wednesday afternoon at St. Paul’s Lutheran church with a large number of friends and relatives in attendance, including thirty pastors and their families from surrounding towns. Mrs. Kruse, as Mary Magdalene Emma Wolter, was born on February 12, 1897 near Mattoon, Ill. On August 28, 1923 she was married to the Rev. Robert E. Kruse, and to this union were born five children, one of which preceded the mother in death.

Following their marriage, Rev. and Mrs. Kruse moved to Clarendon, Texas for a year, and since that time have made their home in Pender.

Mrs. Kruse died on Wednesday evening of last week in the West Point hospital where she was rushed following a sudden attack of illness which struck her during the night.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Eugene 12, Donald 8, Allen 5 and three week old baby daughter, Sharon; her father and stepmother, the Rev. and Mrs. G. W. Wolter of this place; five brothers and one sister, besides a number of other close relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were also held in the Lutheran church at Pender where the departed served as organist for many years.
