WM. BRANDERT IS BURIED TUESDAY

WAS RESIDENT OF WASHINGTON COUNTY DURING ENTIRE LIFE

William J. Brandert, 61, well known Herman resident, passed away at his home in Herman January 26, after a lingering illness of three months. Mr. Brandert was well known throughout this vicinity having lived in Washington County and near Herman throughout his entire life.

While the deceased had been quite well until nearly three months ago, he has not felt in perfect health since five years ago when his back was broken, and he received other minor injuries at which time it was necessary for him to remain in a hospital for several months. It is believed that his death was caused by complications which have gradually arisen from the accident five years ago.

Mr. Brandert was born November 24, 1873, at Telbasta. His age at the time of his death was 61 years, two months and two days.

He lived his entire life in Washington County, the greater part of which was spent on a farm nine miles west of Herman and later in the village of Herman where he moved about 17 years ago.

He was united in marriage March 2, 1898 to Miss Minnie Meier at the Bell Creek church at Vacoma. No children were born to this union although at the age of seven, a niece, Elaine Kott entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. Brandert and has resided with them since that time. Survivors are his wife, his father, Herman Brandert, Sr; one brother, Herm Brandert, Hooper, Nebraska; and one sister Mrs. F.H. Hagerbaumer, Hooper, besides his niece, Elaine Kott. The mother of the deceased prededed him in death on October, 1905.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 29, at both the home and at the Bell Creek church. Rev. W.H. Moeller, Hooper conducted the services. Pallbearers were Henry Kuhlman, Ernest Fisher, August Ruwe, Fred Grabe, Fred Flake and Henry Flake. Interment was made at Bell Creek cemetery at Vacoma.

William J. Brandert, an old settler and a native of this county was born at Telbasta November 24, 1873, and passed away at his home in Herman January 26, 1935.

His entire life had been spent in this county, and until his removal to Herman seventeen years ago, he resided on a farm in the neighborhood of his birth nine miles west of Herman.

He was married March 2, 1898 to Miss Minnie Meier who survives him. Other immediate relatives who mourn deeply his death are his father, Herman Brandert; one brother, H. Brandert of Hooper; and one sister, Mrs. F. H. Hagerbaumer of Hooper.

Funeral services were held at one o’clock Tuesday from the home and at the Belle Creek church at 2 o’clock with Rev. W. H. Moeller of Hooper officiating. Interment was made at the Belle Creek cemetery.
