CLAUS BRANDT PASSES AWAY

Claus Brandt, Sr., living about nine miles south of Blair in the Dornacker school district, passed away Wednesday night of this week at the age of 79 years.

Deceased was an early settler in this county and one of the good, substantial citizens of his community.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at his home, and interment will be made in German cemetery.

BENNINGTON MAN DIED LAST NIGHT

CLAUS BRANDT, 79, SUCCUMBED AT HIS FARM HOME AFTER ILLNESS

Claus Brandt, 79, farmer living about a mile and a half north of the German hall at Bennington, died at his home Wednesday night after being ill for some time.

Mr. Brandt, a farmer, is the father of several sons and daughters living in this county. His wife died several years ago.

The body was taken to the Sievers Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun. Funeral services will be held at the Brandt home Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock, with Rev. Henry Goede of Bennington in charge. Interment will be in the German cemetery.

BRANDT RITES HELD SATURDAY

Hundreds of friends and neighbors thronged the Brandt home a mile and a half north of the German hall at Bennington Saturday afternoon to pay their final respects to Claus Brandt, 79, who died the previous Wednesday. Rev. Henry Goede, of the Lutheran church at Bennington was in charge of services and interment was made in the German cemetery.

Surviving Mr. Brandt are two sons, Claus Jr., of Bennington and George, of Blair; and four daughters, Mrs. Anna Hinrichsen, Omaha; Mrs. Maggie Wrigg, of Kennard; Mrs. Mary Wiese, of Bennington and Mrs. Emma of Irvington. One sister, Mrs. Margret Lempke, of Hastings, also survives.
