Mildred B. French, 84

Services for Mildred B. French, 84, of Fremont who died February 4, 1994, in Memorial Hospital of Dodge County in Fremont are 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Rev. Richard Burgess of Faith United Methodist Church of Waterloo will officiate. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery at Arlington.

There will be visitation Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home in addition to Monday’s visitation until 9 p.m.

Mildred B. French was born February 19, 1909 in rural Herman. She lived in the Herman area until 1931 when she moved to Blair. In 1938 she moved to the Orum, Nebraska Area. She then moved to Arlington in 1950 and in 1968 moved to Peoria, Arizona, where she lived until moving to Fremont in 1989.

She attended Dana College for two years.

She taught school for 18 years, four years in Washington County before her marriage. She then taught at Fontanelle, Swaberg and rural North Bend for the next 14 years.

She married Raymond J. French May 27, 1931, at Fremont.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; and her parents, Bert and E. Grace Gilliam Loftis.

She is survived by a son, Glenn French of Phoenix Arizona; a daughter, Marilyn King of Fremont; a brother, Marion Loftis of Tekamah; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Tim Brooks, Tom Brooks, Billy King, Rodney French, Doug Brown and Tim Edwards.

Ruth Katz is organist. Linda Nelsen and Annette Gatzemeyer will sing a duet.

Memorials are suggested to Sweetwater School’s special education program in Phoenix, Arizona.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
