Milo L. French

Milo L. “Mike” French, age 79, of Decatur, passed away on Monday evening, February 2, 1987, at his Decatur home after a sudden illness.

He was born on March 24, 1907 at Tekamah to Claude and Flora (Kelly) French. Mike farmed with his brother, Alvin for three years before entering the Army in March of 1942. He served in the Aleutian Islands as a heights finder observer from June of 1942 until August of 1944. He was discharged in 1945. Mike resided in the Bonners Ferry, Idaho area for several years, during which he worked in the logging and timber business. He moved back to Decatur in 1982.

Survivors include two sisters: Lena Nichols of Scott City, Kansas and Doreen Erickson of Tekamah; two brothers: Alvin French of Decatur and Clifford French of Walthill; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 1987, at the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah with Rev. Marion H. Knoell officiating. Interment was in the Hillcrest Cemetery at Decatur.
