J. W. JACOBS

J. W. Jacobs, well known and highly respected citizen of Blair, passed away Sunday, October 7, at 11:00 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jennie Brown, on West Nebraska street. He had been in a frail condition due to his age, and on last Wednesday took a chill which developed into pneumonia with the result already mentioned.

Deceased was born in Indiana May 2, 1852, and was thus past 82 years of age at his death. He was married December 21, 1875 to Miss Matilda Anne Oakley in Bargersville, Indiana, and to them seven children were born, six of whom are living as follows: Mrs. Jennie Brown, Blair; Lester, Blaca, Colorado; Earl of Omaha; Roy of Blair; Raymond of Chicago; and Mrs. E. H. Busse of Albuquerque, New Mexico. All of these were present at the funeral services, which were held at 2:00 p.m. from Campbellā€™s funeral home on Wednesday, and at the interment which was made in the Blair cemetery.

Besides the bereaved children, the wife, weak and feeble as the result of her advanced years, mourns deeply the loss of a devoted husband and father.
