Rev. H. P. Bertelsen, well known and greatly beloved by an exceptionally large circle of friends in this community, answered the call to which all mortals answer on last Sunday, Sept. 30, 1934 at the age of 88 years, 7 months and 15 days.

Deceased was born in Denmark and came to America in early life, coming to Blair forty nine years ago from Maryville, Kansas. Since that time, Blair has been his home and here he reared his family.

He was married Oct. 6, 1880 and four years ago he and his wife celebrated their golden wedding anniversary which was well remembered by their friends which were legion and which marked a red letter day in their life.

Rev. Bertelsen was a devout Christian and was ordained into the ministry in 1879, and for fifty five years as a minister he lived the life.

Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Bertelsen, three of whom are still living, Martin and Sena of Blair and Mrs. I. M Andersen of Waupaca, Wis.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the First Lutheran church of Blair with Rev. Carlson and Rev. Lund of this city officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
