DEATH TAKES WELL KNOWN HERMAN MAN

Chris Truhlsen Found Dead in His Car Victim of Monoxide Gas

HAD MANY FRIENDS

The Herman community especially, and the county at large, were inexpressibly shocked when the news was spread about that Chris Truhlsen, Herman businessman, was found dead in his car in his home garage at about 8:30 Saturday morning. The car was still running when the body was found by his wife who had gone to the garage to get the car.

Chris Truhlsen, son of Neils and Margaretha Truhlsen, was born near Fort Calhoun, Nebr. May 25th, 1875 and died in Herman, Nebr. Sept. 29th, 1934 at the age of 59 years, 4 months and 4 days.

He spent the early part of his life near Blair and came to Herman in October, 1910 where he has been engaged in the hardware, furniture and undertaking business with his brother, Henry, until his death.

He was married to Ella Hansen Dec. 23, 1917. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, two brothers, Peter F. of Blair and Henry of Herman; two sisters, Mrs. Ann Jensen and Mrs. Lena Siert of Blair.

He was a member of the Masonic lodge of Herman, the Royal Arch Masons of Tekamah and the i.O.O.F. of Blair.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at two o’clock at the Legion hall, conducted by Rev. T. J. Reese of the Baptist church of Blair and Rev. C.C. Norlin of Herman Methodist church.

The Masons conducted their rites at the grave. Interment was made in the Herman cemetery.

His many friends grieve with relatives over his tragic death.
