MRS. LUCY KIEFER

Mrs. Lucy Kiefer, formerly a resident of Blair, but later of Omaha, passed away Thursday of last week at an Omaha hospital after an illness of two months.

Deceased was born April 5, 1865 in Belleville, Ill., and was married to William Kiefer in Blair in 1892. Her parents moved to this county in 1871 where they settled on a farm where she grew to womanhood and where she received her education.

Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Kiefer, all of whom are still living and all were at her bedside at the time of her death: Mrs. P. F. Payne and Mrs. J. L. Gagini and Alfred and Donald of Omaha; Mrs. A. C. Croft of Denver and Gerald of San Francisco.

Besides her immediate family, she leaves one sister, Mrs. John Ackerman of New Plymouth, Idaho and two brothers, John Wachter of Lincoln and George Wachter of Pender, Nebr.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning, September 1, in the Catholic church in this city, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
