RITES HELD FOR MRS. S. ANDERSEN

Mrs. Sophia Andersen, 78, who had been ill for the past three weeks at the Adolph Nelsen home north of Washington, died early Saturday morning.

Mrs. Andersen lived in Kennard about 28 years, and for some years on the farm now owned and occupied by Edgar Larsen, before going to Kennard to live.

She is survived by her niece, Mrs. Adolph Nelson.

Funeral services were held at the Kennard Lutheran church Monday afternoon, with burial at the Kennard cemetery by the side of her husband, who died many years ago.

SOPHIA ANDERSEN, AGED 78, IS DEAD

DIED AT THE ADOLPH NELSON HOME NEAR WASHINGTON SATURDAY

Mrs. Sophia Andersen, 78, died Saturday morning at the Adolph Nelson home north of Washington, following a three-weeks serious illness. She had spent the past winter at the Nelson home, and had returned to her permanent home at Kennard only recently, just a few days before she was taken ill, and returned to the Nelson home.

Mrs. Andersen had lived for several years on the farm in the Colby district now occupied by Edgar Larsen, before moving to Kennard 28 years ago, where she made many friends, especially among the Danish residents of that community.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Anna Johnson and Mrs. Nels Anderson of the Washington vicinity, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral rites were held at the Kennard Lutheran church Monday afternoon, in charge of Rev. James N. Lund f Blair. Miss Viola Hansen and Viggo Carlsen, both of Blair, sang solos during the services. Interment was in the Kennard cemetery, by the side of her husband, who died many years ago.
