H. RASMUSSEN RITES TUESDAY
Henrick Rasmussen was born at Aro, Denmark July 13, 1853 and died at Blair, Nebraska April 8, 1934 at the age of 80 years, 8 months and 25 days. He grew to manhood in the community of his birth, and at the age of 15 years was confirmed in the Lutheran church.
After his service in the Army, he was married to Maria Rask in Fyn, Denmark November 4, 1883.
To this union were born four sons and three daughters. All survive except one son, Laurets, who died by drowning in 1914. All are in Denmark except one son, Louis J., with whom he spent his last years.
His wife died February 9, 1909.
He came to America in July, 1915 and lived with his son, first in Lancaster county, then Holt and Boyd counties and the past year at Blair.
He leaves to mourn him Mrs. Sophia Petersen, Hans, Christian, Mrs. Anna Svendsen, Louis J., Andrew P., Karl, and Mrs. Ellen Henricksen and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock at the Methodist church in Blair with the pastor, Walter H. Jackson in charge, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
