F. S. JENKINS PASSES TUESDAY

In ill health for the past three years, Fred S. Jenkins, resident of Blair for more than 30 years, died early Tuesday morning at his home on West street at the age of 57.

Funeral services are to be held this Thursday afternoon from the Bendorf funeral home, with an Omaha minister of the Church of God, of which the Jenkins family has long been a member, officiating. Burial is to be made in the Blair cemetery.

Mr. Jenkins was born at York, Nebraska and lived in that vicinity until his marriage in September, 1901 to Miss Dorothy Newell. Shortly afterwards the couple located in Blair, and the family has resided here since.

For a number of years Mr. Jenkins was well known throughout the state as the owner of a string of race horses, and in later years, after disposing of them, he became associated with a stock food concern. Poor health necessitated his retirement several years ago.

Surviving are the widow and three children, Edward, a member of the C.C.C. stationed at Garden City, Kansas, who arrived in Blair Wednesday morning, Mrs. Ruth Suverkrubbe of Ft. Calhoun and Miss Catherine, who at present is seriously ill in an Omaha hospital.

Also surviving are two brothers, Ralph Jenkins, Springfield, Neb.; Frank Jenkins, Decatur; a half brother, James Jenkins, Lincoln; and one sister Mrs. B. M. Utterback of Arlington.
