MRS. H. P. BERTELSEN CALLED WEDNESDAY

Mrs. H. P. Bertelsen, a resident of Blair for the past forty eight years, passed away at her home in Dexterville Wednesday morning, Febr. 21, 1934, the result of a long, lingering illness brought on by her advanced age.

Deceased was born in Denmark Dec. 12, 1850, and came to America in her young womanhood. Here she met and married H. P. Bertelsen on Oct. 6, 1880 at Hampton, Nebr. From Hampton they moved to Marysville, Kansas and later to Blair where for the past forty eight years the family has been a part of the community life.

On Oct. 6, 1930 this worthy couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, at which time a large aggregation of old time friends and relatives gathered to do them honor, and the occasion was a red letter day to them.

Always active in church and civic affairs, they have formed a friendship of loyal friends who value them for their true worth, and who will miss Mrs. Bertelsen greatly in their rounds of home life and duties.

Four children were born to Mr. And Mrs. Bertelsen, three of whom are still living. They are Mrs. M. Anderson of Waupaca, Wisconsin, Martin of Blair and Sena at home, also seven grandchildren and one brother and one sister who reside in Denmark, all of whom, with the aged husband, grieve deeply their great loss. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. from the First Lutheran church of which she was a consistent member, with Rev. James Lund officiating, and interment will be made in the Blair cemetery.
