William Frederick Klahn was born in Brandenburg, Germany February 2, 1844, and passed away at his home in Fort Calhoun February 1, 1934 at the age of 89 years, 11 months and 30 days. Had he lived one day longer, he would have reached the age of 90 years. Mr. Klahn came to Nebraska in 1868, and always lived in and around Fort Calhoun. He was married to Miss Willamena Brock on October 30, 1886. To this union twelve children were born, five sons and seven daughters. Mr. Klahn is survived by his wife, five sons, Henry, John, William and Herman of Fort Calhoun and Ben of Omaha; seven daughters, Mrs. Ira Wagers of Lorrington, Wyo.; Mrs. Homer White of Montana; Mrs. Charles Miller and Mrs. Louis Fink of Fort Calhoun; Mrs. Al Segelberg and Mrs. Emma Jensen of Omaha; Mrs. Frank Crom of Tekamah; thirty one grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Sievers Mortuary, and burial was made in the local cemetery. R. H. Prentice officiated.
