ROSS RASMUSSEN OF HERMAN PASSES

Ross H. Rasmussen was born in Krarup Sogn, Denmark March 16, 1863. He died at his home in Herman, January 21, 1934 at the age of 70 years, 10 months and 5 days. He came to Nebraska in 1886, settled near Herman and lived there until the time of his death.

He was married to Miss Hannah Hendrickson November 29, 1887, and to this union five children were born. Three of them died in infancy.

He leaves to mourn his death one son, Henry, at Sheridan Lake, Colo., one daughter, Anna, who has made her home with her father for the past several years, two brothers, John of Butte, Mont., and Edward C. of Chicago.

His wife preceded him in death two years ago.

Seven grandchildren survive.

He was a member of the Land Mark lodge No. 222 A.S. and A.M. and a member of the Lutheran church and the Danish Brotherhood.

His funeral was held at the Methodist church at Herman Tuesday afternoon. Rev. T. J. Reese of Blair and Rev. C. C. Norlin of Herman officiating, and interment was made in the Herman cemetery.

Deceased was a well known character in the county, and took great interest in all civic affairs. In his younger life on the farm he acted on the school board for years and later served the county in the office of surveyor. His public and private life was exemplary in every way, and he had a host of friends who admired him for his sterling honesty and his high ideals of manhood.
