Vernon E. French, 45, died Wednesday Dec. 2, 2009, at his home in Arlington.

Services were Saturday, Dec. 5, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Interment was in the Arlington Cemetery.

Vernon E. “Ed” French was born Jan. 14, 1964, in Arlington to Jerry and Marlene (Heller) French. He was a life-long resident of Arlington.

He graduated from Arlington High School in 1982 and attended Southeast Community College in Milford. He was an ASE, certified mechanic, and had been employed as an automotive technician at Sid Dillon Chevrolet in Fremont for 27 years.

He was a member of Maplewood United Methodist Church in Omaha.

On May 20, 2000, he married Alayna Mentzer in Omaha.

He is survived by his wife, Alayna, and daughter, Avory Madison French, both of Bennington; parents, Jerry and Marlene French of Arlington; brother and sister-in-law, Kirk and Deirdra French of Hooper; sisters and brother-in-law, Charyl and Gary Chappelear of Arlington, and Tracy French of Hooper; nieces and nephews.
