EARL LAWSON DIXON

Earl Lawson Dixon was the son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Dixon. He was born in Jasper county, Iowa in 1858, moving to Cuming City near Blair with his parents in 1865. In January of 1886 he was married to Effie Steinmeyer in Morrison,Illinois, who preceded him in death in 1917, and to them nine children were born, all surviving. They are Willard, Louis, Fayme, June, and Mrs. Carolyn Quattrochi, all of New York; Mrs. Della Steed of Kansas City; Richard of Corona, California; and Mrs. Lena Aye and Mrs. Edith Swinderman, both of Omaha. There are twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Mr. Dixon was in the barber business in Blair the greater part of his life. He moved to Kansas City to live with a daughter in 1924, and then returned to Nebraska, living in Omaha with another daughter until his death on December 1st.

Funeral services were held at Campbell Mortuary on Sunday at 3:15 with Rev. Ralph P. Rasmussen officiating. Burial was made in the Blair cemetery.
