ALEX FINLAYSON PASSES AWAY

Alex Finlayson, a former early citizen of Blair, died in a Sioux City, Iowa hospital Tuesday night at midnight.

The Finlayson family left Blair something like thirty years ago, going to South Dakota where they homesteaded. Later the family moved to Sioux City where they have lived since.

Mr. Finlayson, in his young manhood, was an engineer on the railroad with Blair as his headquarters, and when the family moved back to Sioux City he took up the same line of work, and was employed as foreman in the machine shops of Sioux City for a number of years, in fact until he was eighty years of age when the railroad company retired him on a pension.

Funeral services are being held this Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock in Sioux City.
