Nic Friedrichsen, Former Kennard Businessman Dies

Nic Friedrichsen, long-time Washington County resident and for many years a businessman at Kennard, died Wednesday at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair. Nic operated a hardware store at Kennard for many years prior to his retirement. He has been a resident of Crowell Memorial Home in Blair in recent years.

Nic was born in Nebraska October 3, 1890, and was 85 years of age at his death. As a younger man, he homesteaded in Canada, but later returned to Nebraska and to Kennard where he purchased the hardware store.

Nic entered into many activities at Kennard and proved to be a substantial citizen of the community.

His wife preceded him in death. The couple had one child, a daughter, Shirley, who is now Mrs. Jim Long of Blair. There are three grandsons.

Funeral services were held at the Campbell Mortuary Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Guy McClure, Superintendent of the Crowell Home, conducting the service. Burial was made in the Kennard Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Arnold Matzen, Harlan Christensen, Bill Nielsen, Bernard Thompson, Leonard Nelson and Lloyd Jacobs.

Note: Nic is buried in the Kennard Cemetery, Block 6 Lot 41 Space 3.
