Funeral services for Mrs. S. M. Baldwin, who died at her home here on Tuesday evening of last week, were conducted by the Rev. Thomas W. Parkin at the Methodist church at 2:30 o’clock on Friday. As Amelia Rowley, she was born at Beardstown, Illinois on October 20th, 1865, and moved with her parents to Muscoda, Wisconsin when a small child. Here she grew to womanhood, and on December 25, 1880 she was married to Levi Sampson. The couple came immediately to Nebraska where she spent the remainder of her life. To this union five children were born, one of whom died in infancy. Mr. Sampson also passed away in April, 1899. On September 14, 1900 she was married to Sylvanus M. Baldwin of Fremont where they lived before moving to Arlington where two daughters were born to the union. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, LeRoy Sampson of Sacramento, California; Evan Sampson of Greer, Idaho; four daughters: Miss Mamie Sampson of this place; Mrs. Mabel Simpson of Kansas City, Missouri; Mrs. Vernal Rausch of Lincoln and Mrs. Sylvia Campbell also of Lincoln; also three stepchildren, Mrs. Nora Cassel of Page; Mrs. Martha Arehart of Elgin; and Alvah Sampson of Bridgeport. Burial was made in the Arlington cemetery.
