W.P.A. FOREMAN DIES AT BLAIR HOSPITAL FRIDAY

Overcome by Heat. Died of Ruptured Appendix. Former Omahan

Fred Schlager, 33, former Omahan, who had been supervising WPA projects at Blair and Decatur for three years, died of a ruptured appendix Friday. He was once an Omaha boxer.

Attendants said Schlager was overcome by heat a week ago. The fatal illness followed.

Mr. Schlager was highly respected by those who knew him, and the men working under him speak in highest terms of his fairness in his dealings with them.

Survivors: wife, Mabel; daughters, Marian and Carol Jean, all of Blair; mother, Mrs. H. Schlager, Omaha; brothers, Max, Conrad, George F. and Robert, all of Omaha, and Bill of Los Angeles, California; sisters, Mrs. Charles Gorr, Jr. and Catherine Schlager, both of Omaha; and Mrs. E. C. Viers, Columbia, Missouri.

Funeral services were held Monday morning in Omaha where interment was made.
