HERMAN RESIDENT BURIED TUESDAY

George Otis Yowell was born in Marion county, Iowa on November 11, 1868, and died at his home in Herman July 2, 1939. While young in years he moved with his parents to Nebraska, and has resided in Washington county the rest of his life. He was married to Miss Cora Triplett February 22, 1890. She passed away September 18, 1926. To them were born six children. One son, Floyd, died in November, 1918.

Deceased was a member of the Landmark lodge A.F.&A.M. at Herman and of the local Baptist church. Several years ago he suffered a paralytic stroke from which he never fully recovered, and has had several since that time. He resided on the farm home southwest of town thirty five years, and has lived in Herman the past four years.

He was remarried on November 28, 1928, and he is survived by his wife and three sons, Claude and Allen of Herman and Gerald of Los Angeles, California, two daughters, Mrs. Anna Larson and Mrs. Edna Christensen, both of Herman, one sister, Mrs. Nellie Clements and one half sister, Mrs. Renick Coldron, both of Gillette, Wyoming, six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 o’clock at the Herman Baptist church, Rev. T. J. Reese of Jefferson, Iowa, officiating. Music was furnished by a male quartette, L.D. Long, Roland Wachter, C.R. Gray and Fred Robertson, with Mrs. G.F. Lowe at the piano. Burial was made in the Herman cemetery.
