FORMER HERMAN MAN DIED SUNDAY

Jacob Beyer, 82, of Pender, an early day resident of Herman, died at his home there Sunday evening. In February he suffered a paralytic stroke and had been bedfast since.

Deceased was born at Kirkwood, Illinois June 23, 1857, and died Sunday, April 30, 1939, aged 81 years, 10 months and seven days.

In 1887 he came to Nebraska with his sister and her husband, the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Cooper. He settled on a farm in the New England neighborhood where he lived for many years. A number of years ago he moved to Pender where he has since lived. The wife has been dead about forty five years.

Surviving are one son, Emory of Pender; a daughter, Maude, Mrs. Earl Prussia of Walla Walla, Washington; five grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was an uncle of Mrs. Louis Fitch and Mrs. D. W. Rutledge of Herman, Harry and Gene Cooper of Tekamah and Bert Cooper of Blair.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the M.E. church at 2 o’clock. Rev. A. W. Clarke officiated. Burial was made in the Herman cemetery.
