VICTOR WOLFF, SR. DIED SUDDENLY LAST THURSDAY

Resident of Blair Since 1885. Dies at 87 Years of Age

Victor Wolff, who has been a prominent figure in the history of Blair since 1885, died suddenly on Thursday, February 9th, at his home on West Colfax street.

He had been in good health up to the time of his death, and able to take rides to various points of interest.

At the time he was stricken he was clearing the walks of snow which he had insisted on doing against the wishes of his daughter, Mrs. Rose Metzinger. He was found collapsed on the walk and life was extinct.

Deceased was born in Alsace Loraine, at the time a province of France, and at the age of eighteen years came to America where he first settled in Omaha.

About a year after arriving in this country he married Emma Cleffner, the marriage ceremony being performed in Omaha.

In 1885 they moved to Blair where they have since resided. The wife passed on about twelve years ago, and since then the father has lived on happy, with six sons and two daughters all loyal to him and thoughtful for his happiness and comfort.

The children are: Victor, Ed, Carl, Frank of Blair and Arthur and Louis of Omaha and Mrs. Rose Metzinger and Mrs. C. J. Beekman of Blair, all of whom are grief-stricken over their great loss. Twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren also mourn him.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on last Saturday from the Bendorf Funeral Home, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery. Thus another early settler has been called. A man of unquestioned integrity and of a kindly disposition that made him loved by all.
