Henry George Matzen passed away on the evening of January 18th at the home of his brother, Emil Matzen or north of Kennard. Deceased was born in Holstein, Germany on December 10, 1867.

In the fall of 1884 he immigrated to America, locating in this county where he has since made his home. His parents came five years later, and Henry, being unmarried, made his home with them, and after their death he made his home with his brother, Emil.

He leaves another brother, August, who lives in Kennard, and a large circle of friends and acquaintances who will miss him greatly.

Funeral services were held last Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Emil Matzen home with Rev. P. C. Jensen of Kennard officiating, and interment was made in the German cemetery north of Bennington.
